This course strengthens the Finnish language skills needed for job seeking and working in Finland, while also introducing Finnish work culture, communication practices, and everyday workplace situations.
The course is intended only for immigrant women who are not entitled to an integration plan. The course is free of charge for participants, and is part of a project funded by The Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI). The aim of the project is to support Finnish language learning and employment among women with an immigrant background, read more here (in Finnish).
Koulutus vahvistaa työnhakuun ja työelämään tarvittavaa suomen kielen taitoa sekä tutustuttaa suomalaiseen työkulttuuriin, viestintätapoihin ja arjen työelämätilanteisiin.
Opiskelijan tulee olla maahanmuuttajataustainen nainen, jolla ei ole oikeutta kotoutumissuunnitelmaan. Kurssi on osallistujalleen maksuton ja toteutetaan osana Opetushallituksen rahoittamaa hanketta. Hankkeen tavoitteena on tukea maahanmuuttajataustaisten naisten suomen kielen oppimista ja työllistymistä, lue lisää täältä.

To Whom
The course is intended only for immigrant women who are not entitled to an integration plan. Participants may be students or graduates of higher or secondary education, or women who are employed or outside the labour market.
The participant should have basic English skills, and Finnish language proficiency level should be A1.3–A2.
Size of the Group
Maximum group size is 14 participants.
Course Content
- Finnish language for job seeking and work-related situations
- Finnish work culture
- Vocabulary and grammar are studied through work-life contexts and everyday situations
Learning Outcomes
After the course the participant will be able to
- manage basic tasks in Finnish when looking for a job or working
- understand Finnish work culture and workplace rules
- know the vocabulary and practices related to applying for jobs: job advertisements, job applications, and CVs
- understand basic workplace communication, including emails and phone calls, meetings, and negotiations

The course will be taught during weeks 21–24 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 17.30 to 21, except on Friday 5 and 12 June, when the teaching will start already at 16.30.

Kohderyhmä
Koulutus on suunnattu ainoastaan maahanmuuttajanaisille, joilla ei ole oikeutta kotoutumissuunnitelmaan. Opiskelija voi olla esimerkiksi toisen asteen tai korkea-asteen tutkintoon johtavassa koulutuksessa tai tutkinnon jo suorittanut, työllinen tai työmarkkinoiden ulkopuolella oleva nainen.
Osallistujalla tulee olla perustaidot englannin kielestä ja suomen kielitaitotaso tulee olla A1.3–A2.
Ryhmäkoko
Koulutukseen mahtuu enintään 14 osallistujaa.

- Työelämään ja työnhakuun liittyvä suomen kieli
- Suomalainen työkulttuuri
- Sanastoa ja kielioppia opiskellaan työelämän ja suomalaisten arkitilanteiden kautta
Osaamistavoitteet
Koulutuksen jälkeen osallistuja
- osaa työnhaussa ja työssä tarvittavaa suomea
- tuntee suomalaisen työkulttuurin ja työelämän säännöt
- tuntee työpaikan hakemiseen liittyvät sanaston ja tavat: työpaikkailmoitukset, työhakemus ja CV
- tietää, millaista on työpaikan perustason sähköposti- ja puhelinviestintä, kokoukset ja neuvottelut

Toteutustapa verkossa
